Jul 28, 2016  GarageBand comes pre-installed on the iPad Pro and is a powerful and intuitive tool for making and recording music. There have a been a few major upgrades since the Pro was launched. Dec 10, 2017  I get the impression, that you want GarageBand for free, correct? All of the Apps that were once called iLife were offered free with new iPad mini. The first time you entered your Apple ID, a dialogue box appeared asking if you wanted to download a list of Apps.

Jan 28, 2016 I currently plan on using the Mac mini almost exclusively for Garage band and to a lesser extent iMovie. I have used and am used to using garage band on the iPad mini and I wanted to find out if the performance on the Mac Mini 1.4ghz model is comparable to that. I do know that garage band for OS X is significantly more powerful than the iPad version. GarageBand for iPad might hinder rather than help iPad music making software development This sounds like a strange argument, but consider that GarageBand for iPad is going to cost $5, and if it works as promised, you're going to be getting an awful lot for your money.

Feb 22, 2016  FYI you can take the.band file created on Garageband the iPad and open it straight up on the Mac version of Garageband and work on it, but you cannot go back the other way. Nor can you use the same.band file on the iPad once opened on the Mac (as it converts it). Using third‑party external musical instruments with GarageBand requires devices made for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The Alchemy synth is available on iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 4. Multitrack recording requires a compatible third‑party audio interface. Try again after each step

1. In the App Store, tap Updates. Find GarageBand in the list. If you see Update next to GarageBand, tap Update. If not, skip this step.
2. If you use Audio Units Extensions or Inter-App Audio apps as instruments or effects with GarageBand, check with the manufacturer for updates.
3. If you use an external audio interface, disconnect it. If GarageBand works, you might need to update or service your audio interface.
4. Delete any Audio Units Extensions or Inter-App Audio apps.
5. Create a new song, then play it. If it works, check your other songs and solo tracks to see which one caused the issue.
6. Reset GarageBand. Go to Settings > GarageBand, then tap Reset GarageBand. When you reset GarageBand, your song files, presets, or patches aren't affected. Other custom settings, such as the 24-bit audio resolution and Multitrack Recording settings, are reset to factory defaults.
7. Back up any songs on your device. Then delete GarageBand and redownload it.
