Here are the steps to enable your sound card stereo mix for windows 7:

1. open your winamp
2. Go to Options>Preference>Plug-ins>DSP/Effect>Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP
3. The “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source Panel” will open
   • • First, make your settings to stream are correct, Encoder Type and Bitrate, IP, Port, and Password.
     • Go to the Input tab and change your input device to “Soundcard Input”
     • The Sound card Mixer Control displays
     • Click the “Open Mixer” button
4. The Sound Recording tab displays
   • • If you don’t see your sound card make a right-click on any blank space and select “Show Disabled Devices”
     • Select your sound card, do a right-click and select “Enable”
     • Make sure your sound card is set as “Default Device”
     • If you are not going to use your sound card inline for a microphone and you have for example a USB microphone make sure your microphone is set as “Default Communication Device”
     • Click the Playback Tab at the top and select your default audio device.
     • Click OK button
5. Go back to the “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source” Panel
   • • Click the refresh button next to the pull-down menu under “Choose Capture Device”
     • Select your microphone from the pull-down menu under “Choose Capture Device”
     • Right-click the speaker icon next to your clock on windows taskbar and select “Open Volume Mixer”
     • Keep main volume 100% (this is just a recommendation)
     • Adjust Winamp volume or the volume of the software that is playing the music. (listen the streaming from another computer and adjust the volume until sound smooth)

Now your Winamp should be able to take any audio go through your sound card and you should have your microphone ready to talk.

Open your Volume control Right-click the speaker icon next to your clock on your taskbar and select “Open Volume Control” if you don’t have this icon see this instruction.

To enable the display of the Volume icon, follow these steps:

5. then click view click find and copy and paste {4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} into the search field and click find it will take you right to the one you need
6. Then look for the folder with the plus sign next to them and expand until you see Settingsfilterrear
7. Then right-click on rear & add a Binary Value as DigitalInputMonitor after creating this value add the binary value of 01 by right-clicking on this new value.
8. then right-click again on the rear and add the second Binary Value as DigitalStereoMix then right on this new value and a binary value of 01.
9. After you get this done there should be 2 already existing values in the list that would need to be changed.
10. The first one MasterControlsIndipendentMixerInputs the binary value of this value would be changed from 01 to 00
11. The next one is EnableInputMonitor would be changed from 00 to 01.

After all, this is done restart the pc and the stereo mix should be shown as an option on the Volume Control.

1. I need to know how to get my mic & headset into Mixxx for a live broadcast radio show. I am using a Shure X2U USB connected to my mic and plugged into a USB port on the Mac. All seems to be working OK on the Mac and I can hear and speak no problem. However I cannot get the mic controls on the Mixxx console to give me anything.
